Customize Slack alarm message?

Hi there!

I was wondering if it’s possible to customize the PagerDuty Slack app’s message when it triggers an incident? For instance, this is one of our latest incidents:

Triggered #2849: Average disk_used_percent GreaterThanOrEqualToThreshold 95.0

This specific alarm is shared by multiple other environments, so it doesn’t clearly indicate which of our environments are being affected. To address this, we make use of unique and human readable alarm names and helpful descriptions. We would much rather have the description of the alarm used instead of the metric and threshold violation, as well as the name of the alarm clearly visible.

Is this behavior user-configurable at all?

Hey Nathaniel!

There isn’t a way to directly configure the PagerDuty Slack notification at this time, but PagerDuty rulesets give users the ability to reassign the incident title to a more meaningful field in the event’s payload.
